Welcome back to recipes with Tasha! If you missed me as much as I missed sharing with you all, I’m so sorry! Mac has been hopping around in my kitchen, and, well…. (sorry Mac, I’m spilling the seeds about you!)
Well anyway after cleaning up and getting back off my claws, I whipped up some homemade fruit snacks I came across on this blog. Vegan Mommy Chef made these scrumptious fruit snacks using applesauce, and you know how I love my Holmes applesauce! And I loved these homemade fruit snacks with applesauce! 1 cup Holmes applesauce
2 tbsp. brown rice syrup, agave nectar, or maple syrup (adjust to your taste)
2 tsp. agar powder

Mix all ingredients together in a small, non-stick saucepan.
Bring to a simmer over medium heat, then turn heat down to low.
Simmer for 20-30 minutes, until the liquid in the applesauce, has evaporated and the mixture is reduced by about one half. Stir periodically (so applesauce doesn’t burn to the bottom of the pan).
If you use candy molds for shape, lightly oil them and spoon in the applesauce mixture. Otherwise, lightly oil a shallow pan and spoon in the mixture.
Chill for 30-60 minutes, until completely set. If you poured the mixture into the shallow pan, cut the cold, set mixture into little bite sized snacks.
